Role of the Teacher as Caregiver

Our teachers are concerned and competent educators that know how to stimulate a child's development by fostering inquiry, building knowledge, promoting relationships, and tapping into children’s interests to ignite passion for learning. Our teachers are caring and nurturing individuals. They attend to student feelings and needs. They co-create learning experiences with students. They also help students learn to socialize and to participate as a contributing member of a larger community. Every classroom has a head teacher and an assistant. Teachers take on a variety of roles during the day. Sometimes they are actively involved with children and directing activities like painting, gardening, acting, or reading. Sometimes they are listeners and are quietly in the background observing and taking note of student's activities and interests.
